a 62-year-old male

On July 25, 2026, a 62-year-old male collapsed and became unresponsive on the Welch and Dickey Trail in Waterville Valley. CPR was performed by passing hikers and continued by Pemi Valley Search and Rescue volunteers until a New Hampshire Army National Guard helicopter hoisted the hiker from the mountain. The hiker did not survive.
