Rescue — Edmands Col Cutoff Trail, May 26, 2024

Andrew Davis, 27, of West Hartford, CT

On May 26, 2024, Andrew Davis, 27, suffered a severely broken leg on the exposed ridgeline of the Edmands Col Cutoff Trail in Thompson & Meserves Purchase, over 4.5 miles from the nearest road. He activated a SPOT device SOS and crawled approximately 3/10ths of a mile to the junction of Edmands Col/Gulfside Trail/Randolph Path before being located by two Randolph Mountain Club caretakers. A NH Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter airlifted him to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
