55-year-old woman from Austin, TX

Caroline Wilson, 55, of Austin, TX, was found hypothermic and unable to move or communicate on the Gulfside Trail approximately 1 mile north of the Cog Railway tracks on June 20, 2025. Her husband called 911 at 5:00 p.m.; rescuers from AVSAR, PEMI SAR, MRS, and Cog Railway personnel reached her via a Cog train, treated her in a temporary shelter, and carried her by litter back to the train. She was transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare; conditions on the Presidential Range that day included winds up to 120 mph and temperatures of 20°F.
