On March 8, 2024, Mylene Tremblay, 51, slipped on a steep and icy section of Falling Waters Trail while descending after 4:00 p.m., sliding approximately 25 feet on rock and sustaining injuries that prevented her from continuing. Her group of six had not stayed together, leaving Tremblay and her partner without a light source in diminishing visibility. Rescuers carried her approximately 1 mile down the trail and she was transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare.
