Conditions are difficult Saturday and remain poor Sunday with continued heavy snow. The best window in the next 48 hours, if hiking must occur, is an early morning start Saturday before precipitation intensifies — but be prepared to turn back if snow accumulates or visibility deteriorates. Monday (June 1) shows improved prospects with only a slight rain chance and milder temperatures.
Trail: Percy Peak Trail, Old Summer Club Trail, South Percy Peak Spur, North Percy Trail
Conditions: Dry Trail
“Beautiful day, fall foliage gorgeous, maybe slightly past peak, but not lacking in color, ground cover also vibrant on to of North. Very surprised to be first car in lot at 9am. Had the summits of both peaks to ourselves...odd for such a nice day. Saw a couple people coming up as we headed down. Erosion more obvious on all trails than when I last hiked this in 2022, and sadly some areas of trampled summit vegetation. Some maple/ash/birch leaves down on trail, not overly slippery yet, so I didn't check that box. Temps in the low 80s in early October. Some haze today, not sure if it was forest fire haze or not.”
Trail: Percy Peaks Trail, Old Summer Club Trail, South Percy Peak Trail
Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
“Dry trails with only a small amount of mud right near the trailhead. Leaves are changing but still have a bit of time before they are at peak. Excellent views all around today.”
Trail: Percy Peaks Trail, Percy Loop Trail, bushwhack
Conditions: Dry Trail
“Foliage is definitely starting to change, particularly in Nash Stream Forest north of the summit. Reds look a little rusty, however. Somewhat hazy in the distance, but views still terrific from the summit. Some work is being done on Nash Stream Road. Multiple heavy trucks went by during the road walk, raising lots of dust, so you need to be attentive on that part of the loop.”

Rising above the Nash Stream Forest in Coos County, this distinctive summit stands as one of New Hampshire's most rewarding northern peaks. The trail climbs steadily through northern hardwood and spruce-fir forest before breaking out onto open, rocky terrain near the summit, where hikers are rewarded with sweeping 360-degree views stretching across the Connecticut Lakes region, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the White Mountains to the south. The exposed quartzite summit cone gives North Percy a rugged, alpine character that feels outsized for its modest elevation. It is the more dramatic of the two Percy Peaks, featuring a steep final pitch that adds a bit of adventure to the ascent. As a featured summit on the 52 With a View list, it draws peak-baggers seeking outstanding scenery beyond the traditional White Mountain corridors.
