Trail: Unknown Pond Trail, Kilkenny Ridge Trail, Horn Spur
Conditions: Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow - Wet/Sticky
“Started the day from Unknown Pond North Trailhead. Went up to Unknown Pond - started seeing accumulating snow around maybe 2500ft elevation. Temp stayed right around freezing so it was wet and not accumulating too much. Maybe half an inch of snow around the pond, if that. From there took Killkenny Ridge trail over to Rodger's ledge, less snow as you went back downhill and not much snow at Roger's Ledge. Someone has been very recently working on the bog bridges near the middle of this section, however the worst part which I guess they haven't gotten to yet involve balancing across a single beam over deep water which wasn't particularly fun. But thanks for the new bridges! From Rogers Ledge went back to Unknown Pond. From there up to The Horn and then The Bulge. Certainly more snow in this section, maybe up to an inch or inch and a half. All wet so a bit slippery but nothing too bad. No views from the Horn due to low clouds. From the Bulge went back to the car. I'm sure all this snow will be gone in a day or two but it was still fun because it wasn't in the forecast! Total hike ended up being about 14.5 miles and ~5000ft elevation gain.”
Trail: Kilkenny Ridge Trail, bushwhack, Devil's Hopyard Trail
Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
“Very nice hike up Rogers Ledge via Kilkenny Ridge Trail. We bushwhacked to get to North Peak. We saw in a trail report here that the canister was missing, but there was a red paracord left around a tree on the highest point. We found it, it was still there! There was a nice view on top of North Peak's cliff, near the summit. After the short bushwhack, we took plenty of time on Rogers Ledge's summit! The views were absolutely gorgeous with the fall foliage! After a long break on top, we did the Devil's Hopyard trail since it's part of the Terrifying 25 list. Nothing very terrifying there, except for slippery rocks and deep holes. It was fun, though!”
Trail: Mill Brook Trail, Kilkenny Ridge Trail
Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
“This is my third jaunt to Rogers Ledge and I just can’t convince myself that I love the view. The Prezis are visible but seem really far away. Because they are. LOL. However Mill Brook Trail is an absolute dream to hike so this one is all about the journey. The trail design is fabulous, because how great is it to hike alongside a babbling brook? There are no steep sections until just below the summit and those are mostly handled with stone steps. The icing on the cake, however, is the amazeballs trailwork recently done on this trail. Holy smokes people, there is saw and axe work visible and a truly impressive amount of brushing. Whoever you are, I am sending you hugs, because it is absolutely marvelous!! On the downside we found a recent campfire site right at the summit. Fire risk is currently “very high” and there was a lot of brush and dead stuff piled on and around where this fire was. I cleaned it up as best I could. Sigh. So dangerous.”

Tucked in the remote Kilkenny region of northern New Hampshire, this 2,965-foot summit offers a rewarding experience for hikers seeking solitude away from the busier White Mountain crowds. The trail winds through classic northern hardwood and boreal forest before reaching the open ledges that give the peak its name. Those exposed rocky outcroppings provide the highlight of the hike — sweeping views of the Pilot Range, the Percy Peaks, and the broader North Country landscape. The above-treeline ledge exposure, while modest in scale, delivers a satisfying sense of openness uncommon for peaks at this elevation. Rated moderate in difficulty, the route is accessible to hikers with reasonable fitness and basic trail experience. As a member of the 52 With a View list, it draws peak baggers looking to explore New Hampshire's less-traveled northern ranges.
