a 62-year-old from La Prairie, Quebec

Johanne Hebert, 62, slipped on a loose rock while descending Greenleaf Trail from the summit of Mount Lafayette and was injured. Fellow hikers helped her to Greenleaf Hut, where it was determined a carry-out was necessary. Over fifty rescuers, many just finishing SAR training, responded and carried her out over the three-mile difficult terrain.
