Kristine Curtis (Boston, MA) and Anne Cullen (Cambridge, MA) · party of 2

On Saturday, October 20, 2012, Kristine Curtis of Boston and Anne Cullen of Cambridge, MA, climbed to the summit of Mount Stanton in Bartlett, then took a wrong turn and lost the trail in the area of Mount Pickering, calling 911 at 6:20 p.m. Conservation Officers searched overnight and located the pair the next morning near the Rocky Branch drainage, guiding them out by mid-morning. The women had no headlamps and were not prepared to spend the night, and were unharmed because the late-October night happened to be mild.

What we can learn
