“A wonderful day was had today- Slippery Brook trail up to the Baldface Knob junction was well broken out and packed by ski traffic, but still unconsolidated enough to definitely require snowshoes. Eastman Mountain trail looked as though it has been untouched all winter- now broken out by a party of 3!”

“Idyllic hike to Eastman Mountain today. Saw one set of footprints (bare boot) that seemed to continue up towards South Baldface but we laid out a nice snowshoe track for anyone who wants to go up to Eastman! Some spots below 2000’ are still a bit bony but the snow is so loose and fluffy that spikes would really do nothing for you; snowshoes are the way to go for now. It was a very quiet day but we seemed to get lucky with sunshine and views. Saw one small group when we were almost done; they said they were heading to Emerald Pool. Otherwise we had the trail to ourselves!”

Trail: Slippery Brook Trail, Eastman Mountain Trail

Conditions: Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

“The “trail” road was an easy walk up to the turn where you were on an actual trail. Lots of leaves made it slippery and also covered roots, stumps and rocks. Used poles for that reason. Eastman Mt Tr was also in great shape. Views were excellent. Snow on high peaks but these trails were nice and dry!”
