The most viable window in the next 48 hours is early Friday morning before the shortwave trough arrives Friday afternoon. Winds are forecast to decrease to 25–40 mph Friday morning (still strong but a step down from overnight levels), with some breaks in fog possible around midday. Start as early as possible Friday to summit and descend before afternoon snow showers and returning fog develop. Saturday conditions deteriorate significantly with a warm front, persistent summit fog, showery precipitation, and sustained elevated winds — Saturday is not recommended for a Washington summit attempt.
